Paver Patios Built for the Carolina Coast
Coastal patios fail in different ways than mountain patios. Sandy soil shifts under improperly prepped bases. Salt air degrades cheap materials. Hurricane runoff overwhelms patios designed without drainage. We build to handle all three.

Built to ICPI Standards. Engineered for the Coast.
Most paver patios that fail on the coast fail because of base prep or drainage that wasn't designed for coastal weather. We're ICPI Certified, we build to spec on every project, and we engineer base depth and storm drainage into the design from day one.

FAQs
How long does a paver patio take to build?
One to 3 weeks from start to walkthrough, depending on size and access.
Will pavers shift in sandy soil? Properly installed pavers don't shift. The trick is base prep: compacted aggregate, geotextile underlayment, and proper edge restraint. Cheap installs skip these steps and fail within a year.
Can I integrate the patio with my pool deck? Yes, and it's usually the better choice. Designing the patio and pool deck as a single space keeps grades, drainage, and materials consistent and looks like it belongs together.
What about hurricane runoff and drainage? Engineered in from the start. Coastal patios need drainage designed for storm volume, not average rain. We grade, plumb, and tie into existing systems as part of the build.
“I cannot speak highly enough about Thorpe Landscapes and the work they did at my house. We had a travertine driveway and pool deck installed, as well as an outdoor kitchen and putting greens. From top to bottom they are a company dedicated to making sure their customers get exactly what they want.
The management team was a constant presence on site. They communicated well, and were great about making recommendations. Dan Thorpe and Dan Massie were incredibly patient with me about any changes I wanted to make to the design and thoroughly answered all of my questions.
The install crews could not have been more friendly or polite. Their performance was consistent, they were always on time, and made sure to clean up the property at the end of each work day.
Thorpe Landscapes is always my first call for any outdoor projects. They continue to be my regular lawn care maintenance provider.
I definitely recommend them for your landscape/hardscape needs.”
