Pool Decks Designed With the Rest of Your Outdoor Space
A pool deck works best when it's planned as part of the larger yard, not just the pool. We design the deck alongside the patio, outdoor kitchen, and surrounding hardscape so materials coordinate, grades flow, and drainage works together. The result is an outdoor space that reads as one cohesive design.

FAQs
Travertine or pavers?
Both work on coastal pool decks. Travertine stays cooler underfoot in direct sun, has natural slip resistance, and pairs beautifully with the coastal aesthetic most beach-area homes are built around. Pavers offer more pattern and color options and a slightly lower price point. We'll show you both during the consultation.
Will the deck get too hot to walk on?
Material choice does most of the work. Travertine and light-colored porcelain pavers stay noticeably cooler than dark pavers or concrete in summer sun. We'll factor in sun exposure, pool orientation, and how you actually use the space when recommending material.
Can you replace my existing pool deck?
Yes. We tear out the old deck, evaluate and rebuild the base if needed, address any drainage problems, and install the new surface. Coping can be replaced at the same time or kept depending on its condition.
What about chlorine and salt water damage?
Properly sealed travertine and quality pavers handle pool chemistry without issue. We seal as part of the build and recommend annual re-sealing. Cheap materials fail in a few seasons; quality materials hold up for decades.
How long does a pool deck build take?
Two to 4 weeks for most builds. Larger decks, decks integrated with new patios or outdoor kitchens, or builds that include coping replacement can run longer.
βDan and his crew over at Thorpe did a fantastic job! They helped transform our back yard around our new pool from dirt to an oasis! They were prompt on the install, did a great job, and they helped answer all our questions along the way! highly recommended if you are looking for a landscaper, especially to pair with a new pool install!β
